Open Letter to a New Yoga Teacher

Dear Yelling Stressball,

I attended your class last night with some trepidation. I have been taking similar classes at this center for the past year and have greatly enjoyed the classes. Yet, they have all been under the auspices of the same instructor, Awesome Lady, and I was hesitant to take a class with a different instructor, since, as we all know, WE FEAR CHANGE.

I'm not sure if you were aware, but the meditation class that you taught last night, and indeed, most yoga practices, are considered to be stress relievers, not stress-inducers. If your plan was, in fact, to increase my stress level greatly, then I must wish you a hearty congratulations, because you were amazingly successful. If stress inducement was not actually your aim, might I suggest a different profession? Boot camp drill sergeant, perhaps?

Unfortunately, I don't find myself in need of additional stress at the moment. When I do find myself relaxed for a long period of time, I'll make sure to give you a call. Till then, I'll be skipping your yogic stress classes.

Sincerely,
Jendeis

Oy! is right! Maybe you could print this out and leave a copy for her? Hmm? Too passive aggressive? Still might be affective! :)

And Dear Yoga Teacher, if you increase my stress even more, I am going to stuff it where there is no OM coming out!

re: comment left on my blog, no worries I was laughing after I gave the rental blog.

re: Yoga teacher...

Dear Yoga Teacher,
Please understand that my friend Jendeis does not need to be leaving your class stressed. I would like for Jendeis to leave your class in a happy state that makes her want to curl up and read a good book afterwards.

1 week until we are back in DC. I am trying to get excited- but this to-do list is making me an unhappy camper.

No I am not stoned. I have just written too many papers in the past few days and my typing has turned crazy...

Not rental blog... it should have been rental car back.

There is another laugh for today.

HUGS!

Happy ICLW!

I say you send this letter to the center. Or maybe you could put some Icy Hot in his yoga pants? That might be a bit harsh though. I think you're more mature then I because I'd want to get even ;o)

I hope if you go to another class, it is actually stress RELIEVING!

OMG. If it was me I would be so freaked. I have never been to a yoga class and this would have sealed it for me.

Ended up here after a google search that went wrong. But it was a good step in the wrong direction. Funny stuff!

Yikes! Does she own the studio or something? Surely, others are aware of her anti-yoga craziness. Experiences like this are why we sometimes fear change. I guess now you can stick with Awesome Lady without any regrets.

I have to wonder what he/she came to the class carrying. I can't imagine being a yoga instructor for exactly that reason. To let it all go as you walk in the door would be sooooo hard!

Sorry you had to be part of his/her baggage!!
