You Can Stop Hiding

I've calmed down now. Please read Lindsay's and Leah's comments on that last post, cause they just rock.

Vented about this to my mentor earlier today, who pointed out that the person was probably just trying to be helpful and I was adding in a lot of emotional baggage of which the person was unaware.

My RE did calculate my BMI (40 at the time). She said statistically it would decrease our chances (from about 50% to 30-35%), but she saw no reason not to try. I have a friend that wears size 0 and weighs less than 100 pounds that got pg and had preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Its a risk for ANYONE! Stick it to em honey. I pray you find someone that can help you. It absolutely sucks that you have to put up with IF and "buttmunch"'s.

They may have been trying to be helpful, but they certainly weren't very diplomatic.

I'd like to know why they didn't mention the anaesthesia issue. And yeah, gestational diabetes and the like can affect someone at any point on the BMI spectrum.

love those comments!!

even if you may have been sensitive to the email, I think they are still out of line. I'm now overweight and my RE raised my dosage of follistim to account for it, but turns out I didn't need it and over-responded. didn't help anyway since it failed, but still. eff them.

Reading it through a few times, I think they were trying to be helpful but they could have been a little more tactful in their approach...

It also seemed to me that they did not really read your initial email as they have not mentioned anything about the male factor involved that you have already been diagnosed with and jumped straight to the possiblity of PCOS...

Good luck with a response to them!

LOL @ Leah and Lindsay :)
