John Dear and I woke up early and got our butts to the local Weight Watchers meeting. John Dear wasn't too enthused by anything that went on, but he's not a real rah-rah person anyways. I really liked the meeting leader. I'll take funny over dry facts anyday. We'll both be starting the Core Plan. JD - because he has been successful on Atkins in the past and this is a similar kind of discipline. Me - because you supposedly lose weight faster on Core and I'm down with that. Once losing a significant amount I may switch to the Flex Plan (the one where you count points all the time), because I am a Bread Lovah.
BFF and I (along with practically every female in Northern Virginia) saw Sex & The City last night. I went with no expectations and I really liked the movie. It's not a cinematic achievement, but who is going for that? I'm going for the funny and the fashion. Some girls got real, real dressed up for the show, like stilettos and sequined dresses, dressed up. Hi, no. I'm at the movies.
JD, at my request, is out of the house for a couple of hours so that I can clean in peace. Instead of totally cleaning though, I'm also checking blogs and having to draft letters for work due to some situtations that need my attention ASAP.
We'll be meeting up with his parents for dinner tonight, so we've got a pretty full day.

Good luck on WW. I know some folks who have had great success with it.
Good luck with WW! I, too, am a bread lovah. I am a carb lovah in general.
I must.have.bread. Good luck doing without!
What a great idea to keep track of commenting. I might have to give that a try because I get so wrapped up in reading new blogs that I forget it I actually commented or just thought I did along the way.
Good luck with WW!
Hey there from ME...Happy NCLM...I am not listed :-( because I was a day late and a dollar short but I wanted to do it anyway and Mel encouraged me! BTW I am a total Carb/bread lover too! Who can live without bread? Sheesh!
Happy weekend!
Hugs
Sharon
Thanks for the comment on my blog! Good luck with WW. Prayers up you get the ultimate reward at the end -- a sweet little babe. Now that's a motivator!
Returning the NCLM favour.
I'm very jealous that you've been to see the SATC movie, but rest assured, I am not the type to go all dressed up. That is bizarre.
Good luck with WW!
Thanks for the visit!
Good luck with WW. I was doing the points system a couple years ago and need to start up on it again.
Glad you got to see a fun movie!
I find that I also get sidetracked w/ my "projects" around the house...I'm looking at blogs and then saying, "But I have to! I signed up and everything!" just for an excuse as to why the dishes are still in the sink. ;) Hope you got the place cleaned up!
Hey - thanks for the shout-out via Mel! If you want I can add you to the invited reader list? You can e-mail me at eep6(at)cornell(dot)edu.
Congrats on attending a WW meeting.
I really want to see the sex and the city movie!
Weight Watchers is a GREAT program. I hope you have lots of luck with it.
You are committed - congratulations (it is so hard to change habits). Best of luck to you and hubby at WW.
We did portion control through Subway subs - yep, it worked and they are not bad, actually very fresh.
Thanks for visiting!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm bread! I'm a bit of a carb-o-holic, so doing without IS.NOT.EASY...
GL on WW! I did it for a while a few years back, and it definitely worked as long as I kept up with it. I just sucked at keeping up with it!
Dressed up for the movies? Not me. Some of the younger teachers were going to though.
Are we supposed to track where we've commented??? If so I totally missed it!!! Duh!!
Or are you just so organized that I'm left in the dust???? Someday I will get organized...someday!
Thanks for the comment! I've been on weight watchers it seems forever. It really does work. I've never tried the core plan - always the flex. My mom has been on ww for like 10 years and has been skinny for a long time. She's a forever member or something. I always thought the core plan was too restrictive and I knew I wouldn't stay with it. I've lost 20 pounds and still have 10ish to go. Yay!
Thanks for you NCLM comment! I lost 45 lbs on WW (flex... never had the discipline for core). Having a partner to do it with makes a HUGE difference. Totally sucks that it's a prereq for IVF, though. Also makes very little sense, because when I started IF treatment, they told me that dieting and weight loss makes it harder to conceive, because of the added stress to the body. My doc preferred me being overweight but eating properly and exercising. So, no dieting for several months, then several months of fertility hormones... you can guess how much weight I gained back before finally getting pregnant.
By the way -- LOVE the 101 in 1001 list! Unsurprisingly, I've done everything in your "Food" section. I make a mean matzo ball soup....
Good Luck with WW. I lost like 16 pounds a few years ago. I kept it off for a while, but all this IF and miscarriage crap helped me put it all back on. I would be happy with just being 5 pounds down, I am slowly getting there.
I didn't have the discipline for the core plan, good luck though. I too love the bread..mmm... dipped in a little olive oil.
When you switch to points, try skinny cow ice cream for a nice treat in the afternoon. It is like 1 or 2 points and oh so good!!!
ohh good luck with WW - i am the biggest carb lovah you will meet i think, so i give you lots of encouragment!!
OH alone time...I'm envious.
