Nothing much going on here in Funkytown. I did move my office over the weekend, so now I'm rockin' a large corner office that's closer to all the other people I work with. I had been way down the hall with all the accounting people.
I'm getting used to the quiet on this side of the office. Previously, I had people yapping outside my door all day. Now, I really don't hear anything but the soft whooshing of the A/C. It sounds like the ocean, but more like when you put your ear up to a shell.
Have been very productive today, but that is juxtaposed with the feeling that I'm in a daze or bubble, with my head hovering over my body.
Ah, the middle of the 2ww.

I like quiet offices.
Happy two week wait. My fingers are crossed.
Glad you got a quieter office. My old office was very noisy, too, and I never really realized how much it bugged me until I got an office with real walls and a door.
Hope the wait goes well for you, too. I'm in it, too, so I raise my glass of water in your direction. Cheers! Here's to good news for both of us.
I loved my office that was away from the craziness. Enjoy it!!
I hope this 2ww is productive. Keeping you in my prayers.
The noise drives me bonkers. What I would give for a door.
2ww, eh?
I like a quiet office. Quiet office = no bonehead comments.
Sooo...2ww? Going fast and painless I hope.
I bet you get more done in a quiet office. Maybe you can even hide under yrou desk and nap? A la George from Seinfeld?
It is such an unbelievable stroke of synchronicity that you arrived to my blog and left your comment (thank you!) ... First of all, the little stuff: I used to refer to the big D as being in "funkytown" so that speaking of it didn't drive me further into ... funkytown.
But here's the best part (are you ready?) ... Last night as I wrote my "being with the monster" post, I stopped for god-only-knows-how-long to look for this reeeeeally cool little book on depression which I had stumbled upon months ago which for some reason I could NOT for the life of me RE-stumble-upon now as I scoured the internet for way-too-many-minutes-of-my-life!
And I come here and >poof!< The Depression Primer, right here, sitting right here! The exact same book that I was looking for! How cool is that!
And last, but not least, I will share with you that up until a few days ago, my blog was called "things to do in ny when you're [not] dead" ... because the d word was pretty major in my life at the time. Craigie pointed out that language is a very powerful thing and he encouraged me to change the name to something that would not keep me "in it" ... good idea, huh? ;)
Hugs,
Col
Sounds like an amazing office! I hate mine =/ However, I think the constant ocean-like sounds would put me right to sleep on those tired days ;-)
Thanks for all the wonderful links and info on my blog. I read every single one and it gave me a lot of perspective!
