Sloop John B

Let me go home. Why don't you let me go home?

Two posts in one day, wahoo! I so don't want to be at work right now. I have accomplished very little in the office today, though I did fully use my procrastination urge to rearrange my Favorites tab.

This weekend, I will be moving my office to a bigger and better one down the hall which is great, but it means I'm going to have to move all my stuff too. Blech. Right now the only solution seems to be to just blow up my current office and walk away. One of the assistants came into my office to hand me my mail and just laughed at the piles on my desk. Well, they really aren't piles any more as they have all kind of merged and converged and now it just looks like the Himalayas with valleys and plateaus and peaks and all that.

Would like to just chuck all these papers but the problem with being a lawyer is that you generally have to keep all the papers. Dang lawyers.

Hope to post again when I've made progress. Tally ho!

Stopping by to say thanks for your nice comment. We're in the Braces Bunch together too! I look forward to reading more of your posts!

PS - I have not gotten an ounce of work done today either. :)

Just use the Shred-It machine! ;)

I've decided that I am no longer going to keep papers. I am going to scan them all and then shred the originals. I am sick of looking for papers. Of course, I haven't done any of this yet.

Aw, you dang lawyer - I hope the move is as painless as possible, though I know it's always harder than you want it to be.

The scanning idea sounds very good. Can you get anyone in the office to do that for you? That's always the catch - scanning them and developping a system to keep track of them takes at least as much time as filing them all.

Sounds like my office. Back when I had an office, I mean. I was fortunate in that most of what I kept, I didn't actually need, so I could just periodically do a massive shredding party every few months. Good luck!

Funny my computer is like your desk - stacks of files I'd love to get rid of but just can't. What a pain to upgrade my laptop when I've got so much crap I've got to keep on my old one.

ha! I laughed out loud at the idea of blowing up your office and walking away.
Hopefully it ends up being less sucky than expected.
